Was never planned for Wheeling Heritage Trail use. They used the old Hempfield Viaduct and Tunnel. This is still there but defunct since the bridge across the Ohio River was demolished. There is another tunnel on the other side of Ravine St. that came out to the bride across the river but it was covered with a concrete retaining wall when a business cut into the hill. The 1940 USGS map shows this tunnel but does not in 1957.
