This appears to be the longest simply supported (non-continuous and non-cantilevered) truss span in the U.S., beating out the Metropolis and Brookport bridges by a small margin. Anyone know if it holds the worldwide record as well? Online searches only seem to turn up statistics for cantilever and continuous truss bridges.

Thanks for the update! The previous color reminded me of zinc chromate primer and looked like it hadn't been finished. Gray? That'll really make it stand out to pilots against the gray backgound of the river and shore on hazy days, like the day I was last there.

I am a resident of the community served by this bridge. I thought that you may want to know that the entire bridge was repainted to a "battleship gray" color during the summer of 2009. The deck was rehabilitated in the summer of 2008.
