Meadow River Rail Trail - Carnifex Tunnel
This photo of the Carnifex tunnel was taken on October 7, 2017. (A fun note - I was sitting on a horse when it was taken!) Look for the old mile marker, #58 a few hundred yards before you get to the tunnel
Carnifex Tunnel
The National Park Service has recently closed this tunnel to pedestrians. The claim that debris is falling from the ceiling and that the tunnel would not be cost effective to repair.
