First time that we ran into a developer on a bridge save. St. Barnabus active senior living foundation thought they might like to build condos on Fallston and would we mind giving them time to bring in their architects and engineers.
They surprised me. I surprised them. They didnt know that I am a bridge bitch. I offered other, far more suitable highway bridges, but no, they only wanted this one. Location.
This week we ask for a lease so that this bridge is prtotected.
Video of bridge:
A resident had started a petition to reopen this bridge.

That sidewalk has been a mess for years. It was heaved up back in 2006 when HistoricBridges.org first field visited the bridge: http://www.historicbridges.org/pennsylvania/fallston/pict953...
It was funny, a cop drove by, couldn't figure out why a couple people would want to photograph the bridge. He didn't care, he was just simply dumbfounded. Couldn't imagine that anyone would think this bridge was special. http://www.historicbridges.org/bridges/browser/?bridgebrowse...
So a sidewalk was damaged, and the resolution is to permanently close the entire bridge? Pennsylvania...
Closed Feb. 17 after a water line beneath the bridge broke and buckled the sidewalk.
