Description
Sporadic ferry services across the Willamette River between Linn and Benton Counties began in the 1850s. The state legislature authorized Linn County to begin running a toll ferry at this point in 1909. A map showing it as one of 35 automobile ferries operating in the state was issued by the highway department in 1935 by which time it was toll free.
