Mill Road Bridge (Old)
Posted December 20, 2020, by JIM STEWART (JAMESEMSTEWART57 [at] GMAIL [dot] COM)

THANKS FOR THIS POST. THAT'S AN ELEVEN PANEL WHIPPLE BOWSTRING OR WHIPPLE ARCH. MOST OF THESE WERE NINE OR SEVEN PANELS (EXCEPTING THE LONGER VERSIONS WHICH SIMON DeGRAFF BUILT.) S AND J M WHIPPLE DID BUILD THE ELEVEN PANEL VERSION OVER THE ERIE CANAL, FOOT OF AMHERST STREET IN BUFFALO. S AND J M WERE SQUIRE AND HIS NEPHEW. I WONDER IF THIS SUPERSTRUCTURE IS THE SAME ONE.
