The more-than $6.1 million project includes demolition of the existing structure, construction of a new 118-foot bridge over the north branch of the Rancocas Creek and reconstruction of 900 feet of nearby road.
PEMBERTON BOROUGH — Work on replacing the structurally deficient and functionally obsolete Hanover Street Bridge is to begin Friday, according to the county.
The more-than $6.1 million project includes demolition of the existing structure, construction of a new 118-foot bridge over the north branch of the Rancocas Creek and reconstruction of 900 feet of nearby road, county spokesman Nicholas Gangemi said Monday.
The majority of the work is expected to be finished in December, at which point the section of County Route 616 from Hampton Street to Elizabeth Street will reopen to through-traffic.
In the meantime, drivers are to follow the Pemberton Bypass to Pemberton Browns Mills Road — where a temporary traffic signal will be installed — and back to Route 616, also called Hanover Street.
Thanks Luke!
