NS - Albemarle Sound Trestle
Description
On July 5, 1957, at 12:02am, a freight train derailed off the trestle going 10 miles per hour. The wreck killed two people, and injured three. The trestle had suffered extensive damage from the wreck, as seen in pictures 3 through 8.
GPS marks the southern end of the bridge.
