Description 

This bridge crosses the Roanoke River Delta where it empties into Swan Bay and Albemarle Sound. The complex of bridges at this location bears some resemblance to Louisiana's many "swamp bridges", as well as the series of bridges over the Mobile River Delta on Interstate 65 north of Mobile, Alabama.
