Brooklyn Road Bridge

A portion of this bridge is still visible on Google aerial imagery. Bing Bird's Eye View shows one end of the bridge connecting to existing Brooklyn Road, but Google shows a portion has been removed. It's unclear if this bridge was a part of the crossing of Yazoo River or whether this was a separate structure.

Brooklyn Road Bridge
Posted August 2, 2021, by Brian R. Warren (sanitarian1281[at]yahoo[dot]com)

I visited Belzoni this past weekend on related business and checked both sides of the Yazoo River for traces of this bridge. The Google directions point the traveller to a spot not far from the sheriff's office, beyond a concrete retaining wall (possibly a floodwall). The bank of the Yazoo in this area is fairly substantially overgrown but no hint of a previous bridge could be seen in the area on the west side. I had to cross on Hwy 12 (the first set of directions from Google led me to Goat Hill Road, which apparently used to cross the Yazoo at some point in the past but no longer does) to get to Brooklyn Road on the east side.

I believe I may have located the debris the webmaster referenced previously. . . but it looked like it could have been anything.
