I see this as an opportunity to enhance the popular Katy Trail State Park (which runs beneath the bridge) and boosting the local economy of Rocheport. By re-purposing the current I-70 bridge for pedestrian use, cyclists and bridge enthusiasts will be able to access both the trail on the East bank and the Big Muddy National Fish and Wildlife Refuge directly across the river to the West. All while getting to enjoy a breathtaking view of the Missouri River, majestic bluffs and wide valley from the bridge.
After taking it all in they can drop some cash into the local economy by picking up a bottle of Les Bourgeois wine or staying the night at a Rocheport B&B.
If you agree, contact representative Vicky Hartzler https://hartzler.house.gov/ and senator Josh Hawley https://www.hawley.senate.gov/ to show your support.
