This bridge was recently named the "Michael Duane Clickner Memorial Bridge" in honor of a Wabasha resident who was killed in the Vietnam war. Minnesota governor Mark Dayton signed the bill naming the bridge in late May. Here is a link to an article about the naming:

I was 14 when this bridge opened, the public was able to walk the road way my Dad and I took the opportunity to do so. it was quite a change from the old bridge that was tall and narrow with an S-curve on the MN side.
