Hi Guys - checking back in since I didn't receive a reply via email. The issue is in regard to the photo BO - Lower Elysville Bridge (1868), 1870 view, BH Photo #466621. The version shown includes digital restoration work on which I claim copyright, and was lifted from my railroad history site without permission. -Steve
Luke,
I assumed the same. It was a good opportunity to clean up the image. I eliminated the mark-ups, generally cleaned it up to try to bring up the image/get rid of blemishes and created a copy marking up the new rail alignment to the Bollman's position (old alignment). As far as I can tell, nothing but the underlying image and my work remains.
Steve,
Please let me know if Luke is correct and my actions have addressed your concerns. My apologies for not having cleaned it up initially.
In the future, if there are images with expired copyrights or can be posted under fair use, who should be contacted, and how should the credit read?
Sincerely,
Art S.
Art, he's referring to the diagrammed image from trainweb.
Steve,
I posted three of the photos and was under the impression that the copyrights had expired on all three. I had no intention of posting others copyrighted work. Can you point out which of the three photos is under your copyright and what element is copyrighted so I can pull it, clear the copyrighted portion or find the original then keep an eye out for these elements in the future to avoid unintentionally using your copyrighted work.
Sincerely,
Art S.
