Old Bayou Manchac Bridge
Description
Built by the Vincennes Bridge Co. for about $25,000 and completed near the end of 1918, replacing a rope ferry at the same location. Carried the Jefferson Highway auto trail, which became part of US 61 in 1926. Replaced in 1931 by the current bridge on what is now LA 73 as part of improvements relating to the construction of the New Orleans-Baton Rouge Airline Highway.
