Open to pedestrians only
Built ca. 1869. Originally carried an old alignment of US 42 over McCool's Creek. Moved over a ravine between Two Rivers Campground and Point Park in Carrollton in August, 2013.

I would call it an early King Iron Bridge Co. based on outriggers and top chord. Look at the connection from two lower bars to one going through the back of the shoes to a nut. On old Richardsville it was three bars to two with ears, no nut. Fits the patent.

Very rare. Interesting new abutments.

I helped move this bridge to its current location. Bridge is finally finished and ready for public use. Looks great!!!

My daughter visited the bridge yesterday and it is still sitting just as it has been since the move. Pix soon.

I thought there was a corporate sponsorship behind it. I'll check with my wife and see if any of her co-workers who are local to the area can tell her anything. One of the guys used to fish and swim off of it as a kid, and he's one of those guys who knows everyone and everything about the area.

Well... Hopefully it's just a temporary thing and the bridge will be completed someday soon. Probably safer sitting here than out where it was before... I hope.
