The 1934 Concordia KS quad shows the bridge crossing two blocks south of the present crossing. The 1941 county road map shows it at the present location.

The original US 36 bridge was approx. 250 yds south of this one.It was damaged in June of 1935 by flood waters and repaired. I don't know when it was abandoned for the newer location.

This bridge (the second automobile bridge over the Republican at Scandia) was replaced by a new bridge immediately to the north and removed several years ago.
