DOES ANYONE ELSE THINK THE CORRUGATED PLATES ARE ALUMINUM ?
SEE PAGES 64 AND FOLLOWING IN THE CONTECH BOOKLET LINK.
(I'M NOT SUGGESTING CONTECH WAS THE SUPPLIER, ONE WAY OR THE OTHER.)
There is one in northern Clay County near Poland. Will try to get a pic
They're at least interesting as a type when they replace something modern. Louisa County replaced a UCEB with one and the arch looks much better IMHO.
They're not common, but I've seen a few...basically an oversize culvert with retaining walls...definitely not historic so probably 1988 like you said.
My assumption here is this is a 1988 replacement for a 1930 bridge.
Unique. Mostly weird.
