I have spent a little more time looking at this and I think Clark is right. This might not be an old road. It is a cool little piece of civil engineering though.
Checking old county and topo maps I don't see any roads in this location in the past. It's hard to judge the width from the photos but this may be some sort of water control structure. There appears to be another structure to the west.
Interesting. From aerial imagery it looked a bit like a small closed spandrel or perhaps a tee beam. Definitely a ghost road of some sort.
Also there did seem to be some assemblance of a road like structure that came off of both ends on the north east and southwest
Weird one....thinking current or flood control and/or low-water county vehicle crossing way back in the day....very odd but a fun adventure hunting down
Okay, we have an old abandoned bridge over an old channel of Big Hill Creek. Other than that, this bridge gives few clues about its design or purpose.
It's a wier(d) bridge.
