Yes! I believe this is one the the best times to be bridging!
I find historic bridges some of the best places to social distance!
I consider myself to be a fan of the truss bridge, BUT this sucker is impressive, especially for little old podunk Owen County. Equally neat, if you drive around ten miles east or west, you will come to IN42 Mill Creek and IN42 Eel River Through trusses. PLUS you are only a few miles away from the goodness that Putnam County can bring. Life can be swell, even in a dumb-ass pandemic
If someone ever attempted to deface the Mackinac Bridge it would be likely labeled suicidal!
I know that I posted a pic of the Mackinac Bridge on the Cataract Lake IN42 Bridge "comments". The reason I posted the "Big Mac" is because that bridge is dear to my heart, AND it is the reason I love bridges.
Sincerely
Todd
the first comment picture is not the same bridge. A picture of the Mackinaw bridge got posted here by mistake it seems.
I am very much impressed with the 2008 pics versus the "defaced" bridge in the '06 pics. I am always upset seeing what happens when you match cans of spraypaint with a bunch of idiots. If the Mackinac Bridge were to ever be visibly defaced I'd totally lose it!

I believe that this bridge was restored in the past year or two. If you scroll down on the comments for this span you will see pics from 2006 that look a lot different.
This is a beautiful arch bridge!
Is the structure painted white or is the concrete that sun bleached?
Visited this bridge in November (Thanksgiving weekend) 2006

Amazing that a gorgeous open spandrel concrete arch like this would have been built as recently as 1951. Especially with those decorative flourishes, it looks like a 1930s structure.
And this is indeed a great time to be bridgehunting. Exercise, fresh air, nobody else around, light traffic in tourist areas. I've been using the Historic Bridge Locator app a lot, although this bridge is not on it.
