CERA - Markland Avenue Overpass [Map] Lost Bridge over Markland Avenue on Currently removed, formerly Central Railroad of Indianapolis (nee Norfolk Southern, N&W, Nickel Plate Road, Toledo St. Louis and Western Cloverleaf) in KokomoRemoved but not replacedSingle lane underpass with low clearance that was often hit by trucks causing misalignment. City of Kokomo tried for years to get Norfolk Southern(during their ownership) to put at grade crosssing. Central Railroad finally allowed city to remove.
CR - Kokomo Creek Bridge (Center) [Map] Deck plate girder bridge over Kokomo Creek on Abandoned Conrail in CenterDerelict/abandonedForgotten structure over Kokomo Creek just off CR 300 East near Center Indiana. Tracks have been gone since 1970's. Once part of Pennsylvania RR's Richmond Branch, a heavy duty passenger route between Cincinnatti and Chicago.

Nickel Plate Trail - South Fork Deer Creek Bridge [Map] Deck plate girder bridge over Deer Creek South Fork on Nickel Plate TrailOpen to pedestriansOnce part of the second oldest rail line in Indiana, this bridge was used by trains travelling from Indianapolis to Peru and Michigan City. Last used by rail in early 1990's. Line railbanked and abandoned in 1999. Trail paved and open 2010.

NS - Little Wildcat Creek Bridge [Map] Deck plate girder Bridge over Little Wildcat Creek, County 410S and a former Interurban on abandoned Norfolk Southern RailwayDerelict/abandonedThis unique structure was rare as it not only had a creek it crossed, but an Interurban line as well(Indiana Railroad, Frankfort and Kokomo Traction, others). Was supposedly upgraded sometime in the 1980's for future traffic.
NS - Wildcat Creek Bridge [Map · Street View] Pratt through truss bridge over Wildcat Creek on former IMC Nickel Plate linePreserved as a landmark while trail on old rail corridor crosses MOB next to itUnknown builder, replaced covered bridge formerly at this location. This bridge survived the great flood of 1913 due to Lake Erie and Western Railroad loading bridge down with loaded coal cars.
Old Park Road Kokomo Creek bridge [Map] Lost Bedstead Pratt pony truss bridge over Kokomo Creek on Former alignment of Park Road and later used as South gate entrance for former Continental Steel plant.LostPark Road today has a bridge West of here over Kokomo Creek, but in the early 20th Century it travelled down a different alignment and over this structure. When nearby steel mill expanded, old road was used for back entrance into plant.

PRR - Wildcat Creek Bridge [Map] Abandoned pony plate girder bridge over Wildcat Creek on abandoned Pennsylvania RailroadAbandoned and on private propertyMost don't know about this bridge which is bordered on it's North by Omnisource(Mervis scrap yard) and an old factory on the South side. No railroad traffic over this bridge in long time. Remote, and unseen except from creek.

Tracks were pulled a few years ago. Sits on Highland Parks West side.

TStL&W Wildcat Creek Bridge [Map] Lost Timber stringer bridge over Wildcat Creek on former Nickel Plate Road Railroad(nee Toledo St. Louis and Western aka Cloverleaf) in Kokomo. Small ditch with it's own steel stringer bridge formerly located at East approach for Creek bridge.LostBuilt to connect the Cloverleaf main line to Continental Steel, this bridge was removed sometime in the 1970's. Nickel Plate Road later accessed Continental via the Pennsylvania RR's Kokomo Belt to the East and this bridge was no longer needed.

Vermont Covered Bridge 14-34-01 [Map · Street View] Relocated Smith through truss bridge over Kokomo Creek in Kokomo's Highland ParkReplaced by new bridge, bridge moved to Kokomo's Highland Park across Kokomo Creek.Replaced 1958. Kokomo Reservoir was being constructed and this bridge had to go. Originally located near Vermont, Indiana(Howard County), Moved to Kokomo's Highland Park where it still resides today. Pedestrian use only.

WSRY - Defenbaugh Street Viaduct [Map · Street View] Bridge over Defenbaugh Street with low clearance, mostly wooden construction. Damaged in truck hit, and partially removed July 2011..Bridge hit by concrete truck and damaged bridge. Center span over roadway was removed. Unknown if span is still intact nearby - July 10, 2011Very low underpass that has been undercut many times to allow truck traffic to go under, finally destroyed by concrete truck and removed.. Another similiar structure on rail line just East of here has been removed.
WSRY - Sycamore Street Overpass [Map · Street View] Pony/through plate girder bridge over Sycamore Street and formerly Kokomo Street Railways. on Winamac Southern Railway (nee Conrail, Penn Central, Pennsylvania RR, Chicago Great Eastern, New Castle and Richmond RR) in KokomoOpen to trafficBuilt to cross Sycamore and the Kokomo Street Railways, this bridge was known for it's black block lettering on either side spelling PENNSYLVANIA out with the bridge painted silvery grey. Kokomo repainted in last 5 years and added outragous sign.
