Well, at least in Indiana it has a good chance of being restored.
I sure hope that this beautiful structure gets repaired!!
The bridge is still closed and unrepaired. Two local residents are offering a $2,500 reward for "for any information leading to the resolution of this case."

Oh Dear Lord!!! }:-O
Damaged by possible oversized farm equipment on November 10th 2016 and closed to traffic. Boone County currently reviewing options for repair.
Kudos to the local folks who balked at the idea of their historic bridge being replaced by a concrete ugly... AND more kudos to the Boone County Commissioners who actually listened!
The only thing that distracts from the beauty of this location is the constant traffic noise from I-65 that is just to the West of here. But it may just be the Interstate that saved the bridge from already being removed.
Per Indiana Landmarks, this bridge has reopened!
A win for this bridge!
And kudos to all the locals who refused to let this go without a fight!
Bolted Pratt's are rare and it will be good to see this one restored.
Apparently this one's been saved. Per Indiana Landmarks: "In 2004, Boone County Commissioners considered demolishing County Bridge #32 over Sugar Creek in favor of a two-lane replacement. The steel through-truss bridge is beloved by locals who rallied - with help from Indiana Landmarks - to petition the commissioners to save the historic span. Farmers even stated they'd rather detour their heavy farm equipment around the old bridge so it could be saved. The support worked, and officials voted to rehabilitate the span, a project due to wrap up this summer. As a "Select" bridge under the Programmatic Agreement for the Management and Preservation of Indiana's Historic Bridges, a program designed to save the best of Indiana's historic spans, Boone #32 should be protected for years to come."
Was just looking over commissioner's meeting notes from Sept. 2008 and see that the county was denied federal funds to rehabilitate this bridge. Apparently there was some disagreements then about the disposition of the span....although I saw no mention of it being demolished. It sounds like the residents in that area want the bridge restored....and looking at the location tells me that anything else would be a waste of money!

Now, with the bridge being recently closed....I hope the sentiments of the locals remain the same!
This bridge was also called Wilson Bridge per my conversation on April 3, 2009 with Boone County Bridge Inspector Richard Carney.
Hopefully Boone County will follow up with the excellent restoration of the O'Neal Bridge by showing the same respect to this ole' girl.
Not many bolted through trusses remaining.
Was playing with my Christmas present today bridgehunting with my Garmin GPS unit and visited this beauty. Sadly she is closed at the moment. I applied to become an editor on this site, but haven't heard anything yet.
Great News!!! And I love the float!
