There was an interurban electric line that ran from around Lasalle to Joliet that went belly up in the 30's.
If you look around the Illinois and Fox river valley areas you'll find plenty of old interurban right of ways (at least in areas not majorly built up since then)but not a lot of bridges since most of these interurban lines were shoe string budgets compared to the steam roads most bridges were timber construction with only major or fast water flood prone rivers justifying the expense of concrete and steel.
