Description
The Aurora, Elgin & Fox River Electric (AE&FRE), was an interurban railroad that operated freight and passenger service on its line paralleling the Fox River. Some of the original right of way and numerous bridge abutments can be seen along this stretch of road. The Aurora and Yorkville line was built in 1899 so this must date back to then.
