Chambers Street Bridge

I forgot to mention this earlier....but I may have some good news for people who hate to see old bridges destroyed (me being one of them). According to what I've read and heard around Jasper (I live just outside of the city limits), there are absolutely *NO* plans to destroy (or completely replace with a UCEB...or whatever an ugly concrete bridge is called around this site) this bridge whatsoever. I do hope all that is true......because this is a very historic landmark in Jasper.

Hello Robert,

I will correct that about the railroad. Good to hear that they plan on reopening it to vehicular traffic soon.

IIRC, the railroad isn't abandoned. I recall seeing trains using that railroad within the past couple of months.

Also, the bridge, from what I've heard and read, is supposed to be repaired eventually to allow vehicles to drive over it again.
