Construction began in July 1927. Bridge opened in July 1928. Closed for major repairs in 1959 and 1975; permanently closed January 4, 1994; first span imploded August 11, 1994, other 6 spans imploded August-October 1994
Lost seven-span through truss bridge over the Mississippi River on US 67 at Alton
Replaced by the Clark Bridge

Built 1892-94 under the direction of George S. Morison. Railroad line abandoned in 1988.
