William P. Roscoe born in Wadena, Minnesota in 1886. He dropped out of school in 1902 and worked as a cowboy until 1905.

He worked for the Security Bridge Company from 1905 until 1925, when he formed his own company.

A year after forming his own company, his former employer dissolved.
