Mallet Town Bridge

This bridge was about 2 1/2 miles upstream from the Springfield bridge. As mentioned elswhere i used to live a short distance from this bridge when it was still standing, it was a lovely through truss and i used to ride my motorcycle across it in the early 80's. Just as with the through truss bridges i grew up with in Logan Co. Ark. i never thought to take pictures of these great old bridges, thought they would always be there.

Hopefully now that the Mallettown (original spelling of the community) bridge has been added to the site maybe someone will find photos of it. Today the site is occupied by a concrete structure but its still a really nice spot on the Cadron. The Creek is 100 ft. wide here and 150 yards upstream on the left bank is a very beautiful wet weather waterfall coming off the bluff.
