Concord Bridge-Moss Bridge on Deaverstown Road in Blount Co, Alabama
Posted January 4, 2021, by Mary St, Clair (jackiehopes7 [at] gmail [dot] com)

Went over this bridge twice today looking for rock formation where, legend states, Indians met for counsel

pow wows.

There appears to be a large flat rock formation on the right just prior to going over the bridge (traveling on Deaverstown Road headed towards Blow Gourd.) Vegetation, even in early January, covered most of the rock area.

Best view would probably be from river or from opposite bank of Calvert's Prong on The Little Warrior River.

Does anyone have a photo of the rock formation on the river near this bridge (Moss-Concord Bridge) on Deaverstown Road in Blount County, Alabama?

It's visible in that pasture on Google Earth too. A much better fate than I had feared.

I can confirm that first post. I haven't been over the new bridge in a while, but the last time I crossed it, the old bridge was sitting in a pasture right past the new one. I heard that the gentleman who owns the property bought the old bridge, but I have no idea why.

Looks to have been replaced by a modern pony truss span very recently. There's just never any good news in these parts.
