Solid pier construction

This bridge design pays homage to what went before. The piers use lannon stone cladding, similar to many Milwaukee County bridges built during the Depression.

The deck and west railing

Railing detail

The railings are cast to resemble the old style balustrades. The bridges in the background carry I-43 across the Milwaukee River, the one in the distance carries the southbound entrance ramp to I-43 from Hampton Avenue.

The south approach and deck

The traffic light controls traffic exiting from northbound I-43 to Port Washington Road and Hampton Avenue, at the next set of lights north.
