Peshtigo Paper Mill Covered Bridge
Description
This covered bridge carried liquid paper pulp from a now-demolished pulp mill across the highway to the paper mill alongside the river. The wooden sheathing is deteriorating rapidly. Update Aug 28 2011: Has been removed.Facts

Peshtigo Paper Mill Covered Bridge
The piers are still standing; the demolition order stated that they were to be removed or re-used.
In an interesting development, the local paper announced that the city is trying to put together funding to put a fish observation deck on top of the old piers. Every spring, large numbers of spawning fish gather below the dam.

Looks like the perfect opportunity for re-use of another historic bridge--a much nicer looking one! Obviously, the toughest part would be finding the right length spans...
