Looking at the cars, in 1963 there would have been at least a couple of tail fins!

The photo above is NOT the Evergreen Point Bridge. Rather, this is a historic photo from the opening of the original Lacy Murrow floating bridge a few miles to the south in 1940.

The are putting tolls on this starting in April. The idea now in Washington State is to toll before, during, and after the new bridge is complete, as opposed to building and then tolling. Other ideas include tolling I-90 or WA 522 as they fear commuters angry about shelling out (or technically being zapped) $3.50 each way will go around it.

They have recruited former TV personality Bill Nye for PR ads about loving the tolls.

C'mon, Nathan! Everytime a truss bridge is posted on this website, you post that it is doomed. Every through truss bridge is doomed because of some undisclosed reason. I mean JC!!! You better have a good explanation for this!
