I agree with Nathan--Granted, I would much rather see a new truss bridge being built than some ugly concrete blob, but I certainly do not support the idea of destroying the truly historic bridges to make way for them.
Constructing new truss bridges are becoming a popular way to meet Section 106 mitigation. I disagree with this; mitigation should include preservation of original bridge material.
They seem to like building new through trusses around there. Both the Raging River and new Mount Si Road bridges are recently-built through truss bridges.
This has to be the newest through truss bridge around!
