Bridge of the Gods: Builders of Bridges (Replaces the copy removed by YT)
This is a 1928 one-reel B&W silent. These were shown before the feature presentation along with other shorts like cartoons, comedies, newsreels, and novelty shorts. About ten minutes of workers high in the air setting steel and rivets on this bridge. Some great footage of construction methods for large spans. Filler in the last three minutes showing mountain scenes with time lapse clouds.

Made by Thomas Edison in 1899. Film is in the public domain. Not very clear, as I imagine this has been copied from a video tape of a film that is over a hundred years old. BUT, it is an excellent historical item!

Calhoun Street Bridge: 11-15-2019 Calhoun St. Bridge crossing
NJ to PA crossing. The video didn't play great for me but it gives a better sense of scale of crossing this quarter mile + long 1884 Phoenix Column bridge. I think most of the rattles are in the car, caused by the expanded metal deck. A lot of people bust on PA & NJ, but this one is a win!

Division Street Bridge: Chicago Drawbridge that was demolished at East Division Street
This First-Generation Chicago-type Bascule Bridge built in 1903 is was removed in July 2014 and replacement with a temporary gantry fixed bridge by the Chicago Department of Transportation and reopened in the fall of 2014. This bridge most closely resembles the initial designs by City of Chicago engineers developed around the turn of the last century. It was the second Chicago-type drawbridge in the world to be completed.

PE - Fletcher Drive Trestle: Pacific Electric Training Video from 1914
So this is interesting for two reasons. It may well the oldest training film in history. In 1914 the Pacific Electric (“Red Cars”) created a movie to train their conductors on good behavior. Second, if you go to 7:12, you can see the PE Bridge over Fletcher Street. Safety First!
