Description
Many of the bridges in this area may have been timber trestles and the tunnels bare blasted rock when first built in the 1880's when the coal mines were first exploited. The 1913 date reflects when this tunnel was reinforced. The tapered entrance of the portal was built to accommodate ventilation fans when needed.
