As of April 23, 2014, workers are tearing down the collapsed bridge. McLennan County officials say they hope to reuse it as a pedestrian bridge.

Many years ago our Uncle Martin Eichelberger took me and brother Tom to see the bridge over that muddy river. What is the history on how they used it? Cheers! Bob Eichelberger

Yeah, imagine my surprise. The name pops up occasionally, a WWII general, a pro golfer, a MLB pitcher and the occasional street name. At least we don't have a serial killer like my daughter's friend. :-D
