Looks like someone stuffed a MOB and some prison fencing inside this bridge. I realize they don't want people chucking things off the bridge, but it looks hideous, and ruins the view of the beautiful historic bridge.
I wonder if this bridge might have carried the Last Train To Clarksville...
This bridge was once part of the Tennessee Central Railway's Nashville,Tn to Hopkinsville,Ky western division in Clarksville.
From what I'm seeing, railroads are requiring new or rehabbed bridges to have protection from objects being dropped on trains passing beneath. Check out the street view of the newly installed replacement here:

In their defense, I've hate to be in an engine when some of the stuff I've seen below bridges was originally dropped. Nastiest I can recall was a 25" CRT television that probably could have killed a crew member.
