Danville Railroad Bridge[Map] Abandoned through truss bridge over Tennessee River/Kentucky Lake on L & N Railroad Disassembled on Benton County side,the two spans on the Houston County side are used as a private residence The original wooden bridge was built at this location in 1859. It was modified and rehabilitated in the 1870's then rebuilt in 1931 by the VIrginia Bridge Co. Ten years later in 1941 the bridge had to be raised due to the creation of Kentucky Lake.
L&N - Kentucky Lake Bridge[Map] Abandoned parker through truss bridge over Kentucky Lake (Tennessee River) on an abandoned alignment of the L&N Railroad The "Open to pedestrians only" designation is used sarcastically because the bridge, at least its eastern approaches, has been turned into a private residence. Built 1931, abandoned 1981. main span (vertical lift span) relocated for active use in Bridgeport Alabama
