The truss span is still on Quarry Road, on a hill where the road curves. Future still unknown..
The old bridge looks like it may have been a relocated RR bridge. The portal gusset reminds me of this one on a RR bridge, also in SD:

I see old railroad truss bridge on ground. I know it was removed. it is new rosd bridge. Thank you for show picture.
This one has been bugging me for some time. The truss matches a late 1880s to mid 1890s Lassig design, standard on both the Rock Island and Chicago & North Western/Omaha Road. While both these railroads operated in Minnehaha county, the parallel Milwaukee Road did not use this design at all.
Also, would love to see this truss reused somewhere (ideally somewhere flood safe).
