Mr. Weinmann is Vice President and Practice Area Leader- Structural Monitoring for Geocomp and works out of their Chicago office. He is a civil engineer with more than 35 years’ experience in design and implementation of structural monitoring systems for bridges, buildings, tunnels, stadiums, wind towers and other unique structures throughout the world. He has also managed a structural transportation and testing laboratory responsible for full-scale component testing of bridge bearings, dampers and stay cables. His work includes development of SMART structural components for bridges and has extensive experience in fiber optic technology for structural and geotechnical applications. Most recently, Tom has led Geocomp’s efforts for securing instrumentation and monitoring contracts for the Crenshaw/LAX Corridor and Regional Connector Transit projects in Los Angeles and the Bayonne and Tappan Zee Bridge projects in New York.
