I've been doing this for a while now it seems. This is one of favorite hobbies, but anyways. I'm J.P. above you will find my photo blog link or where ever it lands on my bio page. Here is a link to my facebook if you would like to discuss stuff. Personally I'm from the Sunny Side of Louisville (southern Indiana), and I'm excited for the opening of the big 4 bridge across the Ohio.

Is this possibly an old railroad bridge the company bought and reused?

Was able to get to the South side of the bridge and get some photos of the lift span and plaque. Couldn't get on the bridge so it's a cropped photo of the plaque.

So just to show how high the water has been along with records here is a chart showing the current, the highest in the last 365 days and historical. This is the closest gage which is located at the Hal W Adams Bridge. I'm happy to say that this particular spot hasn't hit flood stage since 1948. Chart provided by the USGS. Link provided.

Road Trip

In Louisville Kentucky, I definitely recommend the Big Four Bridge on the Ohio River. If you can see it at night even better as it has one of the best led light displays I've seen. If you want to see several arch bridges stone and concrete you could always check out Cherokee park, which was designed by the same man who designed Central Park in New York City.

This bridge appears to have been moved to steel stringer with truss decorations. But wanted to get second opinions.

Not sure of any info on this bridge. Other then its right off the interstate and seems left to time.

Good call Art, I was trying to tell but wasn't sure.

I know the bridge isn't anything special, but how often are you going to find an abandoned bridge with a caboose on it?

Picture for the recent flooding we had down here. With it less then a mile upstream from the Ohio, it got really close to overrunning it. This was the crest though.
