I started building model bridges many years ago during middle school. My love of bridges was sparked from this, and I have only grown in my appreciation of bridges since then.
Just visited this bridge. It looks like the worst of the graffiti on the bridge has been cleaned up.
This was a really neat bridge to visit. It is the oldest and longest covered bridge still in Georgia. It is in a beautiful area and definitely worth the drive to go see it.
You will notice some changes in the recent photos I took and the Google Stree View. They've been working on this bridge adding an arch in the truss.
Sorry about the double post. I didn't realize this bridge already had a listing. I had submitted a request to merge the two listings.
I am not home to confirm this, but my folks said what was left of this bridge had been washed away by the recent flooding in Carroll and Douglas counties. I am very sad about this, because this old bridge was one of my favorites.
BridgeHunter 2.0 looks good so far. I am excited to see the updates.
