The road was indeed realigned for the new bridge, based on what my father has told me. Portions of the old road still exist just off the new alignment.

It has been mentioned in the local paper that this bridge will be replaced in the near future, unfortunately. Visit while you can!

I think I've found something related to this one! A local long time limestone company, Indiana Limestone Company, just donated a huge number of photos to the archive at Indiana University. I believe this is possibly a photo of this bridge just before it was dismantled in the late 1920s, based on the $27,000 figure also stated on this page:

What do you guys think? The pier looks about the same. I'll try to go get a closer look soon.

This bridge was closed in the last two weeks. Unsure if there are plans to restore it at this time.

Tony, is there anyplace I could view this photo? My family may likely have a photo of this bridge from the 1920s, but it has not yet been re-located (it has been seen in the past.) If we come across it we will add it here.

I grew up just a mile and a half or so away from this bridge.
