Facts

Overview
Concrete deck girder bridge over North Fork, Bens Creek on PA 985 Somerset Pike
Location
Somerset County, Pennsylvania
Status
Open to traffic
History
Built 1922, reconstructed 1953/1954
Design
Conventional 55-foot, two-span concrete tee beam. Distinctive streamline guard rail stanchions. National Bridge Inventory 550985033026000 states that the bridge dates from 1922, although most of the bridge seems to date from a 1953 reconstruction, which would make the streamline detailing an art moderne homage or anachronism.
