Description

FROM THE 1996-2001 PENNSYLVANIA HISTORIC BRIDGE SURVEY: The 3-span, 72'-long stone arch bridge originally built in 1839 was rebuilt in 1914, and rebuilt again in 1977, all by Montgomery County forces. Steel arch liners were placed in 1977 when the bridge was widened and the spandrel walls and parapets were also rebuilt. The spandrel walls and parapets are laid up in rubble coursed masonry. The bridge is not historically or technologically significant. It has been extensively altered. It is located in a county with 50 stone arch bridges dating from 1789 to 1919.
