Description

The Drainage Ditch Bridge on OR-99W between Monmouth and Corvallis is a classic example of a pre-interstate era concrete bridge built by the Oregon State Highway Department. The small bridge has little aesthetic treatment other than a late example of a decorative railing.

This bridge like others along this stretch of Highway 99 had to grow with the increasing traffic and larger vehicles. The original bridge with a 22-foot wide roadway was widened to 38-feet in the 1943.
