Idabel Bridge

http://www.okladot.state.ok.us/hqdiv/p-r-div/maps/state-maps... is a 1933 map. It shows US 70 running due north from downtown Idabel. It ran west of Lukfata Creek.

Modern US 70/259 runs significantly east of Lutfata Creek.

By 1944, the old route had dropped from the state maps and the current route was the only one.

Idabel Bridge
Posted April 27, 2014, by M C Toyer (mctoyer [at] hotmail [dot] com)

I have a general question about the 1923 Idabel Bridge over Little River and the 1938 Little River Bridge on US 70.

I have been unable to locate any detailed highway maps between 1923 and 1938.

Was the Idabel Bridge the primary or only road between Idabel and Broken Bow before 1938?

Are there any accounts or records of a ferry operation at either site before the bridges were constructed?
