I would say there's a 99% chance that US 70 originally ran across the old Idabel bridge. I've driven the back way from Idabel to Broken Bow and the road is like an old highway.
I have a general question about the 1923 Idabel Bridge over Little River and the 1938 Little River Bridge on US 70.
I have been unable to locate any detailed highway maps between 1923 and 1938.
Was the Idabel Bridge the primary or only road between Idabel and Broken Bow before 1938?
Are there any accounts or records of a ferry operation at either site before the bridges were constructed?
