Sounds like something I would probably do....
This had to have been one of the great losses to bridge history in Ohio. If it still survived, it would easily be one of the state's most significant bridges.
I remember jumping off the top of this bridge
I would guess it was about 225 feet long.
I took some photos of it not too long before the abutment failed and it collapsed. My daughter was a toddler cause I remember her chasing butterflies under it. Unfortunately I found out after that not to rely on 1 hard drive to store pics on. I think some of them got printed but I haven't come across them yet.
This must have been one of the longer spanning lenticulars built.
I was at the bridge in the Summer of 2000 with my family. My first experience seeing a Lenticular truss and it definitely didn't disappoint! I remember noting how bad the one abutment was hoping they would do something to rectify it... sadly that didn't happen.
