TPC&L - Little Portage River Bridge
Posted April 20, 2019, by John Liske (toonervillejohn [at] yahoo [dot] com)

Attached is a photo of Toledo, Port Clinton & Lakeside (TPC&L) trestle over the Little Portage River in Ottawa County, Ohio. There was never an actual iron bridge but just a trestle originally some 1200 feet long. Unsure if some of it was filled in later, but part of the trestle had to remain to allow water to flow. The Little Portage did not see ship movements so a swing bridge was not required. The tresle was built in 1904 and thought to have been removed when this part of the line was scrapped and/or removed in 1946. Photo supplied by the Ottawa County Museum. Information from "The Toledo, Port Clinton & Lakeside Railway" by George Hilton as Bulletin #42 of the "Electric Railway Historical Society" 1964.
