Replacement is being built, with girders and piers already in place.
Some more information on the bridge and its eventual replacement: https://ycitynews.com/2264/news/philo-duncan-falls-bridge-to...
This bridge is nearing the end of its lifespan. Seen a bunch of construction equipment on both sides of the river, including a big crane. Start looking into changing the status pretty soon, maybe end of the year to sometime in spring 2019.
There is discussion about raising money to replace this bridge.
They are letting a lot of these bridges rust so they can deteriorate even faster and be replaced by a concrete slab. Then they can put their name to the replacement bridge they built. This happened with the Putnam Street Bridge in Marietta. They didn't paint it and then it rusted so then they could say it needs replaced.
"A fresh coat of paint would spruce this one up good"... This bridge resembles the one at Waterville up in Lucas county which is kept up better.
Hey... There's a Jeff Shroyer sighting on Bridgehunter!
